Mrs. Kanchan Chellani

Mrs. Chellani is currently a math teacher at New Milford High School.  She is a strong believer in making the learning process fun, interactive, and meaningful for students.  She earned her Bachelor's degree from Villanova University in Business Administration and worked at JPMorgan Chase as a financial analyst for seven years upon graduation.  She realized soon after that a career in finance was not for her but rather her passion was to become a mathematics educator.  As a result, she obtained her post-baccalaureate teacher certification in secondary education as well as her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Caldwell College.  Mrs. Chellani has received recognitions from NBC New York, CBS New York, NJ 101.5 FM Radio, The Center for Digital Education, New Jersey Teacher's Magazine, and Eric Sheninger's book Digital Leadership:  Changing Paradigms for Changing Times for effectively creating a blending learning environment in her classroom.

Mrs. Chellani is currently the head of the mathematics department and is the students activity funds treasurer.  She has also played an active role in the school as the former Student Council advisor at NMHS, organizing school-wide activities, events, and fundraisers such as Homecoming, Spirit Week, Fall Apparel, Lip Dubs, the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly, and Field Day.
