Prior to joining the science faculty at  New Milford High School ,  Dr.Asa-Awuku worked as a principal engineer researching  and developing  materials for structural, medical and military applications. His  teaching assignments have included Engineering, Consumer Chemistry, College Prep Chemistry, Adavanced Placement Chemistry, Physical science, Meteorology and Forensic Science.  Dr. Asa-Awuku is also an advisor to the engineering club.He holds a PhD in materials engineering and a BSc in chemical engineering .
